Jet Age Bombers

The Bombing aeroplane is one of the most emotive subjects in aviation history. World War Two demonstrated the rapidly growing power of the bomber; and by the time of the advent of the jet age the bomber had become the ultimate in destructive power and the definitive deterrent of aggression. This two hour documentary looks at the development of two of the world’s greatest bombers. The Avro Vulcan, one of the most impressive flying machines ever to take to the skies. This film highlights its development through to its unique role in the Falklands War; and the Panavia Tornado.  One of the world’s most sophisticated and capable interdiction and attack aircraft, with a large payload, long range and high survivability. The aircraft has been labelled as “for more than a quarter of a century… the most important military aircraft in Western Europe.”
