Face to Face with Brian May
Brian May CBE is an English musician, singer, songwriter and astrophysicist who achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the rock band Queen. He uses a home-built guitar, called the “Red Special”. Queen’s albums include numerous compositions by May, including “We Will Rock You”, “Tie Your Mother Down”, “I Want It All”, “Fat Bottomed Girls”, “Now I’m Here”, “Hammer To Fall”, “Flash”, “Las Palabras de Amor (The Words of Love)”, “Save Me”, “No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young)”, “Who Wants To Live Forever” and “The Show Must Go On”.
Brian May lifts the lid on a life that, if not witnessed by millions of music fans world-wide, would barely be believable. Not only does Brian openly discuss the formative years of Queen, one the most successful recording and touring bands of all-time, he reveals the creative dynamics behind their song-writing and stage techniques. He explains the joys, the tensions, passions and pressures of Queen and talks about how it felt being the first person ever to perform live from the roof of Buckingham Palace, to an audience of over 200 million.
Many of Brian’s most moving memoirs, including those of his good friend, the late, great Freddie Mercury are humbly combined with his delight at the success of the hit musical, ‘We Will Rock You’ that features no less than 32 of Queen’s Greatest Hits.
In one of the most revealing and candid musician-to-musician interviews ever recorded, “Face To Face” host Rick Wakeman holds court with his longtime friend, the guitar icon Brian May, who is best known as the lead guitarist of pioneering rock band QUEEN
